Houston Trial Lawyers Association Holds 12th Annual First Amendment Awards
Last nite HTLA held their 12th Annual First Amendment Awards at the Houstonian Hotel. Houston's top personal injury plaintiff attorneys and members of the media and press gathered to honor Dave McNeely and Jim Henderson for Bob Bullock God Bless Texas and Todd Spivak for Toxic Town. The event featured reknown national political analyst, Charlie Cook. Charlie is the publisher if the Cook Political Report and is widely regarded as one of the nation's keenest litmus testers on U.S. elections and political trends. Once deemed "the Picasso of election analysis" by The Wall Street Journal, Cook has been featured on ABC, CBS, and NBC evening news programs as well as Good Morning America, the Today show, Nightline, Meet the Press, and This Week. He is also a fixture on CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, C-SPAN and National Public Radio. He is a fabulous speaker and his insight into the election and his story of how McCain and Obama actually got to be the 2008 presidential candidates was fascinating.
